"Students in exile are still students": Global University Academy's first action for refugees in Jordan

"We created the Global University Academy for refugees and migrant students because students in exile are still students. They are not unnamed bodies, migrating, or biologically reduced bodies. They are people with lives and careers, and helping them is our mission", declares Frédéric Worms, Director of ENS-PSL, on 03/06/2025.

He is speaking at the closing ceremony of a 3-day workshop for the Global University Academy (GUA), a consortium of universities that aims to create integrated pathways combining academic training with integration into the world of work, in conjunction with companies and local universities, for refugees and students in exile.

Around 50 members from 18 countries gathered in Paris for the workshop, which Université PSL, the only French member of the consortium, hosted.
