Civis Days 2025: A call for “transclusivity” in European higher education and sharing infrastructures

Romiță Iucu "challenged the Civis community and the broader European University Alliance initiative to move beyond traditional notions of inclusion and embrace a more transformative, interconnected model of learning", reports the alliance Civis on 19/06/2025. The Professor from the University of Bucharest (Romania), which is a Civis member, introduced a concept "poised to reshape the work of the European Universities initiative: transclusivity".

Romiță Iucu was speaking during the Civis Days 2025 conference, hosted by Sapienza Università di Roma (Italy) from 11 to 13/06. At the same event, Civis universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding on sharing research infrastructures.

"Transclusivity is about transforming existing logics, including all perspectives, and flexibilising learning across time, space, and discipline. It’s the theoretical glue that can hold together the diverse innovations emerging across our alliances", he said.
