"Rebuild collaborations", "learning to be an associated member": UUKi delegation's tour of Europe in 2025

Universities UK (UKK), the collective voice of 141 British universities, sent its international branch (UUKi) on a tour of European partners, which concluded on 14/05/2025 in Berlin (Germany). News Tank followed the organisation on this journey.

Their tour started in October 2024 with a first stop in Paris (France), and went to The Hague (The Netherlands), Dublin (Ireland), Oslo (Norway), Warsaw (Poland) and Berlin (Germany) in the following eight months.

The British delegation, made up of British stakeholders and members of UUKi, aimed to connect with their European peers and "rebuild collaborations with EU partners" after being cut following Brexit, since the UK has been back in Horizon Europe since January 2024.

In Paris, UUKi highlighted its strong historical partnership with France, and wanted to "make the case that we are in this for the long term, not just this framework programme". It also announced a new pump-priming grants scheme to encourage partnerships.
