DG EAC: Marisa Atienza Morales, Director for Performance Management, Supervision and Resources

The European Commission appoints Marisa Luisa Atienza Morales as Director for Performance Management, Supervision and Resources in the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) on 09/09/2025. The effective date will be determined later.

This Directorate-General "develops policies that contribute to a knowledge-based, inclusive Europe with a competitive economy", describes the Commission.

Marisa Atienza Morales, a Spanish national, is currently Head of Department at the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (Eismea), where "she is responsible for defining the vision and objectives of the Compliance, People, and Budget Department of Eismea". She first joined the Commission in 1994 and rejoined in 2002, and "has developed deep expertise in budget, financial management and human resources, and overseen several programmes with significant budgets in her previous roles".
