"We need Choose Europe to be a strong financial and institutional commitment and to get better jobs, not only for research, but for industry and for society in general", states Manuel Heitor, Professor at the University of Lisbon, former chair of the High-Level Group in charge of the mid-term evaluation of Horizon Europe and former Portuguese minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education on 17/09/2025.

He speaks during a session of the R&I Days, organised by the European Commission, dedicated to 'Choose Europe for Science', together with Ana Paula Mendonça, Brazilian Researcher and Innovation Consultant at the University of Padova, and Andrew Liebhold, US Chief Scientist at the Forest Invasion Synthesis Centre (Czech Republic).
