Erasmus+ proposal for the MFF 2028-2034: Reactions from The Guild and ESU

"By fostering mobility, exchange and partnership - within Europe and beyond - Erasmus+ has made a pivotal contribution to the skills and competences of its population - and to Europe’s standing in the world. We call upon policymakers to strengthen Erasmus+ in its essence, ahead of developing new instruments, unless these can demonstrate similar added value", states Jan Palmowski, Secretary-General of The Guild, on 24/09/2025.

The association publishes on the same day its reaction to the Erasmus+ proposal for the MFF 2028-2034 presented by the European Commission on 17/07/2025:

"The European Commission has published a proposal for a new Erasmus+ programme with a budget of €40.8 Bn, which represents a close to 50% increase from the combined €27.2 Bn (Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps) in 2021-2027. Although far from the European Parliament’s call for tripling the Erasmus+ budget and Mario Draghi’s call to increase the budget fivefold to reach all young people, it is a good start for the sector, but also a bare minimum to equip young people for a fast-changing society."
