European Parliament report on alliances: "Raise awareness about their success" (L. Farreng)

"The aim of my report was, even before the presentation of the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) by the European Commission on 16/07/2025, to raise awareness about the success of the European Universities alliances. This initiative remains little known to some policymakers, even though they are the ones making budgetary choices", says Laurence Farreng, French MEP representing the Renew party, to News Tank on 26/09/2025.

She presented an own-initiative report titled 'A New Vision for the European Universities Alliances' to her colleagues in the Cult Committee on 08/04/2025. The resolution was subsequently adopted by all MEPs in Strasbourg on 11/09/2025.

Even though the report was adopted in plenary after the presentation of the MFF, "I hope our report contributed to the progress of the inclusion of alliances in the Competitiveness Fund (ECF). We insisted strongly on this, together with Roxana Minzatu, Executive Vice-President for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness".
