EAIE 2025: Higher education ministers from Slovenia, Scotland and Egypt discuss Erasmus+, Union of Skills

"We very much welcome the budget for Erasmus+. We hope that this ambitious step will clearly recognise the programme's value for education and skills and its drive for mobility through Europe", declares Urban Kodrič, State Secretary at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation in Slovenia, on 11/09/2025.

He is speaking at a panel during the EAIE 2025, taking place in Gothenburg (Sweden) from 09 to 12/09, together with representatives from ministries from Egypt and Scotland, and the European Commission.

He is joined by Graeme Dey, former Minister for Higher and Further Education at the Scottish Government, who "obviously welcomes the steps by the UK government to reintegrate into Erasmus+", which the UK left in 2020 following Brexit.

"We also welcome the Commission's proposals for FP10. It has been difficult for our institutions over the last few years, as they have to rely heavily on their personal relationships with institutions and countries across Europe, while being undermined by Brexit", he states.
