Switzerland: ETH Zurich opens Albert Einstein School of Public Policy

ETH Zurich opened the Albert Einstein School of Public Policy, a new interdisciplinary centre to improve links between science, technology and policymaking by expanding and further developing existing activities in education, research and dialogue with policymakers, on 21/10/2025.

The centre is headed by Director Tobias Schmidt, who is also Professor of Energy and Technology Policy at ETH Zurich. It counts 70 members from 13 departments, which will focus on six subject areas and work closely with existing centres and institutes in the respective fields:
• Artificial Intelligence and Digitalisation;
• Environmental, Energy and Food Systems;
• Spatial Planning and the Built Environment;
• Public Health;
• Economy and Innovation;
• Peace, Conflict and Security.
