Young Academy of Europe elects new board for 2025-2026

The Young Academy of Europe, an organisation representing early- and mid-career researchers at the European level, elected its new Board during its General Annual Meeting in Barcelona (Spain), from 15 to 17/10/2025.

Anna Kuppuswamy was elected as Chair and Mona Simion as Vice-Chair, while Scott Bremer moves into the Outgoing Chair position, the academy reported.

The academy voted to admit two new members to its board: Anna Dzimitrowicz (Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Poland) and Gianvito Vilé (Politecnico di Milano, Italy).

The Board is also made up of:
• Borja Franco Llopis, Communications Vice-Chair;
• Emma Gordon, Selection Com. Chair;
• Zohreh Hosseinzadeh, Selection Com. Vice-Chair;
• Nicoletta Liguori, Selection Com. Vice-Chair;
• Emilian Mihailov, Recruitment Chair;
• Wolfgang Tress, Treasurer;
• Marc Yeste, Secretary.
