EAIE 2025 shapes the future through international cooperation in higher education

Around 7,000 people, including representatives of European university alliances, national delegations, universities worldwide, the European Commission, and higher education and research professionals, gathered in Gothenburg, Sweden from 09/09 to 12/09/2025 for the European Association for International Education (EAIE) annual conference with the theme “GO-create”. This year's exhibition was the biggest ever in terms of square metres, with around 1,000 higher education institutions represented.

This year, EAIE reserved a special place in this exhibition for representatives from Ukraine and Palestine: "We are here to highlight the issue of education, because running universities in Palestine under occupation is not easy. Universities still survive, but they face many challenges", said Amir Khalil, National Erasmus Office Director in Palestine.

For the first time, the EAIE had a "Study and Research in Africa" booth in the exhibition hall. It was developed by the Daad, the EAIE, and the European Commission. News Tank also reported on a panel discussion dedicated to the Africa-EU…
