Hungary: Corvinus University unveils new strategy to become "major European and international player"

Corvinus University in Hungary has adopted a new strategy for 2025-2028 that aims to take the university from being a "national champion to a major European and international player", Bruno van Pottelsberghe, the university's rector, told News Tank in an interview on 31/10/2025.

He added that the university's focus on internationalisation included "clear priorities dictated by accreditation requirements while ensuring the sustainability of the institutional model".

Van Pottelsberghe, who is Belgian and previously Dean of the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, was recruited by the Hungarian university in 2024. "My recruitment aimed to strengthen internationalisation and improve academic leadership, but also to diversify the faculty and student body," he says.
