European Quality Assurance Forum: "Quality assurance is more than a management tool in turbulent times"

Quality assurance is a valuable measure to help educational institutions deal with the competing challenges they face, according to a senior member from the European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF).

Speaking during the EQAF opening plenary in Budapest (Hungary) on 12/11/2025, Anca Prisacariu, member of the EQAF's programme committee, said: "Quality assurance is more than a management tool in turbulent times, whether they are economic, political or technological. It acts as a stabiliser, building resilience, building trust and accountability within institutions while giving them space to adapt and respond effectively."

She highlighted recent events that have shown that quality assurance "must protect both the integrity and relevance of higher education".

Lajos Szabó, Vice-Rector for academic programmes at Corvinus University, stated the forum would seek to answer certain questions.
