The European Parliament’s political groups have appointed the rapporteurs responsible for drafting the assembly's opinion on the Commission's proposal for the EU's budget for 2028-2034, the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).

In addition to the joint rapporteurs from the EP's budget committee, Siegfried Mureșan, an EPP MEP from Romania, and Carla Tavares, an S&D MEP from Portugal, the shadow rapporteurs are:

• Tamás Deutsch (Patriots for Europe, Hungary)
• Roberts Zīle (European Conservatives and Reformists, Latvia)
• Fabienne Keller (Renew, France)
• Rasmus Nordqvist (Greens/EFA, Denmark)
• João Oliveira (The Left, Portugal)
• Alexander Jungbluth (Europe of Sovereign Nations, Germany)

Their opinions will be reflected in the budget committee's report on the MFF, which is expected to be finalised after summer 2026 so that negotiations with the Council of Ministers can start.
