CERN: Research organisation contacts host state authorities after calls for murder of Israeli researchers

CERN, the European nuclear research organisation, has contacted the authorities in its relevant host states (CERN counts 25 full members and 10 associate members) after a website called for the intimidation and murder of Israeli scientists, including members of CERN, the organisation told News Tank on 03/12/2025.

"CERN is aware of the existence of this website and the articles referring to it. The security and safety of its staff and users is paramount," said the organisation.

The Jerusalem Post revealed that this website had gone online at the end of November 2025. Created by a group calling itself "Punishment for Justice", it listed Israeli researchers affiliated to various institutions in Israel and abroad, including CERN, by disseminating personal information and even going so far as to threaten murder, with bounties.

Initially accessible at the address for-justic.org, the site has now been suspended. According to the Israeli press, an Iranian group may be behind this action.
