Research alliance urges EU to boost scientific cooperation with low-income countries in Horizon Europe

The ERASuD research alliance has urged EU institutions to support scientific cooperation between Europe and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) in the research and innovation Horizon Europe programme (FP10) and other EU instruments being agreed as part of the 2028-2034 budget.

In a series of meetings on 01/12/2025, ERASuD met Ekaterina Zaharieva, Commissioner for Start-ups and R&I, the cabinet of Commissioner Joseph Síkela, responsible for international partnerships, and MEPs from the S&D party, Lina Gálvez, shadow rapporteur for FP10, and Udo Bullmann, member of the parliament's development committee (DEVE).

ERASuD's members that took part in the meetings include the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD), the French biomedical research centre Pasteur Institute, the German Institute for Development and Sustainability and the Stockholm Environment Institute.
