European Commission appoints six new members to ERC's Scientific Council

The European Commission has appointed six new members to the Scientific Council of the European Research Council (ERC). The members will take office on 01/01/2026.

The six new members are:
• Michel Campillo, professor emeritus of geophysics at the University of Grenoble, France;
• Emmanuelle Charpentier, Nobel Prize laureate; founder, scientific and managing director of the Max Planck Unit for the Science of Pathogens in Berlin, Germany;
• Kateřina Králová, professor of contemporary history at the Institute of Ethnology and Charles University in Prague, Czechia;
• Susana Narotzky, professor of social anthropology at the University of Barcelona, Spain;
• Karin Roelofs, professor at the Donders Institute and the Behavioural Science Institute at Radboud University, the Netherlands;
• Eleftheria Zeggini, director of the Institute of Translational Genomics, Helmholtz Munich, Germany.

The term of office of the members of the Scientific Council is limited to four years, renewable once.
