More than nine out of ten Europeans would include digital skills at all education levels

A report on digital skills highlighted that more than nine in ten Europeans would include digital skills in education at all levels.

The "Future Needs in Digital Education" survey published on 11/12/2025 stated that 92% agreed that digital skills should be taught to everyone in schools and universities. The survey was conducted to complement the information gathered by the European Commission, which will present a 2026-2030 roadmap on the future of digital education and skills as part of its Education Package.

Respondents were asked about EU support for digital education, the responsible use of digital technologies, awareness and concerns regarding personal data in digital learning, views on AI in education, the use of digital technologies in teaching and the role of education in developing digital skills.

The survey showed that:
•78% of respondents think digital skills should be given the same emphasis in schools as reading, mathematics and science,
