Attending the ceremony, the Spanish Ambassador to the Philippines, Miguel Utray Delgado, highlighted the strategic importance of strengthening scientific alliances between both countries.

"Through this Memorandum of Understanding, the AEI and the DOST-PCIEERD express their intention to develop and implement joint calls for research projects, as well as promote other initiatives aimed at strengthening scientific collaboration between Spain and the Philippines in areas of common interest," stated the Spanish agency.

"This Memorandum lays the foundation for closer cooperation between the scientific systems of both countries and opens new opportunities for exchange, innovation and technological development."
