Jörn Axel Kämmerer new Vice President of Bucerius Law School and head of international affairs

Bucerius Law School has appointed Jörn Axel Kämmerer, who has been a professor at the school since 2000, as Vice President in the new Department of International Affairs.

Commenting on taking up the office in January 2026, Kämmerer said he "wants to use his experience to strengthen the cross-border networking of research networks".

"With the election of Kämmerer, we are making a clear commitment to internationality. A core element of our new strategy is the renewal of legal education in a networked world. For this reason, international cooperation comes more into focus - even and especially when it becomes more difficult," declared Michael Grünberger, President of Bucerius Law School.

The school also noted that it has decided to give more weight to the vice-president role. As a result, the term has been extended from one to three years and has been given a clear focus on internationalisation and global perspectives.
