European Commission allocates €98 million to academic staff-exchange projects

The European Commission has allocated €97.7 million to staff-exchange projects under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA).

On 03/02/2025, the European Commission announced the 81 project-winners of the 2025 (MSCA) call for Staff Exchanges, which supports short-term international and inter-sectoral staff exchanges in research and innovation, fostering cooperation between academic and non-academic organisations.

A total of 363 applications were submitted in response to this call for project proposals. Of these, 360 were deemed eligible and underwent evaluation. Ultimately, 81 projects were selected, representing a success rate of 22.5%.

The collaborative projects are implemented through international partnerships, involving 1,093 organisations across 95 countries and coordinated by organisations based in 21 countries. The participating organisations include 313 non-academic entities and 157 SMEs.

Italy is the country with the most coordinator organisations (15) and is the country that has submitted the most projects (108). This represents a success rate of 13.9%. The UK has 13…
