The Association of ERC Grantees (AERG) has appointed seven Ambassadors.

On 26/02/2026, the ERC announced the names of seven new Ambassadors of the ERC (the European Research Council):

• Ivan Minev, Bulgaria;
• Ülo Niinemets, Estonia;
• Judit Gervain, Hungary;
• Inta Mieriņa, Latvia;
• Urtė Neniškytė, Lithuania;
• Stefania Milan, the Netherlands;
• Joana Gonçalves-Sá, Portugal.

The Ambassadors for the ERC network, established in April 2025 and now comprising 37 members, was created to promote investment in frontier research, engaging with policymakers and the wider public and to highlight its value by demonstrating how it benefits both the economy and society. The network also seeks to connect ERC grantees with national research and policy communities, while raising awareness of ERC funding opportunities.

The Ambassadors are appointed for a one-year term, which may be renewed subject to the continued interest and availability of the ERC grantee.
