Tatjana König appointed Director of ALLEA Secretariat

Tatjana König has been appointed Director of the Secretariat of ALLEA, the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities, the federation announced on 16/03/2026.

König's experience includes being Managing Director of the Falling Walls Foundation, an international platform connecting leaders in science, innovation and society. After her time at Falling Walls, she joined the Executive Board of the Körber Foundation (Körber-Stiftung), an organisation that awards the Körber European Science Prize each year to outstanding scientists working in Europe. During her tenure at the foundation, König was responsible for the education, science and communications divisions and led efforts to modernise its communications strategy.

A German national, she studied law at Freie Universität Berlin and Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, with a focus on international and European law and also earned a postgraduate qualification in mediation.
