Bremen University vice-president appointed to German advisory board on early-career researchers

Mandy Boehnke, vice president for international affairs, academic qualification and diversity at the University of Bremen in north Germany, has been appointed to a German academic advisory board helping to draft a National Report on Early Career Researchers (BuWiK), the university announced on 31/03/2026.

The National Report on Early Career Researchers will focus on new personnel structures within the German academic system, the university said.

“I look forward to contributing to the report that will provide a well-founded assessment of the current situation and identify concrete areas for improvement," Boehnke added.

She has been appointed for the duration of the report's preparation, scheduled for completion in 2028. Her role covers the entire process - from topic development and the commissioning of supporting studies to the final creation of the report, according to the university.

The BuWiK comes out once per legislative term to provide "well-founded statistical data and current research findings on academic qualifications as well as career paths and prospects in Germany".
