European university alliance UNITA signs strategic partnership with Université du Québec

The European university alliance UNITA and Université du Québec, a network of ten public universities in Canada's French-speaking province, have signed a strategic partnership to strengthen transatlantic cooperation through joint research and mobility opportunities.

The long-term goal is cooperation between Europe and the Americas, UNITA stated on 13/04/2026. The partnership aims to span various initiatives:
• the development of scientific collaborations;
• the establishment of research internships for students;
• the strengthening of student and staff mobility, particularly through summer schools;
• the launch of joint calls for projects, especially for co-supervised PhDs.

"Beyond these concrete actions, the partnership is grounded in shared values: academic excellence, societal engagement, regional anchoring, and the promotion of linguistic diversity," UNITA added.

A first pilot phase will be launched in the coming months to lay the groundwork for sustainable and structured cooperation.
