Commission selects 16 projects under the first MSCA Choose Europe for Science pilot call

The European Commission has announced the 16 projects that will share €20 million in funding under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) “Choose Europe for Science” pilot call on 29/04/2026.

The selected host organisations from nine countries will receive EU funding to recruit and support postdoctoral researchers. They will employ, train and mentor them throughout their projects while providing clear pathways to long-term career opportunities. The first funded positions will be advertised on EURAXESS - the platform designed to foster researchers’ mobility and career development - from September 2026, with recruitment continuing into early 2027.

The MSCA Choose Europe for Science call provides co-funding to institutions that are committed to selecting and recruiting at least three researchers, supporting them for the duration of the project and offering long-term prospects.

The pilot call received 58 proposals, of which 49 were eligible for evaluation. Spain is the country with the most selected institutions, with four, whilst France and Latvia each have three. The selected…
