EU and Armenia bolster their cooperation in R&I

The European Union and Armenia have expressed their wish to strengthen their collaboration in research and education.

During the first Armenia - EU Summit held on 05/05/2026 in Yerevan, the EU and Armenia reiterated "our strong commitment to advancing reforms in areas such as social policy, education, research and innovation, youth, sport, culture, and health..., for example through the international dimension of Erasmus+ as well as Horizon Europe," they wrote in a joint declaration.

Armenia also indicated its intention to join the Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) and the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU). This participation will foster greater collaboration in research and technological development, encourage the exchange of skilled labour, stimulate innovation and help strengthen the European Union’s leadership in semiconductor and high-performance computing technologies.
