The EIC Fund Board chooses EQT as fund manager for the Scaleup Europe Fund

The Board of the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund has selected the Swedish global investment organisation EQT as the preferred investment adviser and fund manager for the Scaleup Europe Fund, on 19/05/2026.

EQT and the EIC Fund are now set to finalise the Fund’s core legal agreements, including its structure, governance and investment framework, paving the way for its operational launch once the remaining contractual arrangements and approvals are completed. The Scaleup Europe Fund and its manager will be officially presented at the EIC Summit 2026 on 03/06/2026, while the Fund is expected to make its first investments in autumn 2026.

The €5 billion Scaleup Europe Fund aims to give Europe’s most promising companies the financial backing they need to grow without having to look abroad for major investment. By tackling the shortage of late-stage funding in Europe, the initiative hopes to help startups and scaleups stay and expand within the continent instead of relocating elsewhere.
