European Commission awards three European Prize for Women Innovators

The European Commission has awarded three prizes to celebrate women entrepreneurs whose work has advanced innovation across Europe.

Ekaterina Zaharieva, Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation, revealed on 04/06/2026 the winners of the 12^th edition of the European Prize for Women Innovators at the EIC Summit in Brussels.

Katerina Spranger won the prize for Women Innovators. A Ukrainian and UK citizen, she is the founder and CEO of Oxford Heartbeat, applying artificial intelligence to support safer and more precise treatment of brain aneurysms. She is awarded €100,000.

Marta Oliveira won the Rising Innovators prize, dedicated to promising young women innovators under the age of 35. She is the Belgian co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of ATMOS Space Cargo, which enables reusable space capsules to safely return materials from orbit and support new research opportunities. She received €50,000.
