Anoaneta Angelova-Krasteva takes over as director for policy strategy and country analysis in DG EAC

Antoaneta Angelova-Krasteva has taken over as director for policy strategy, country analysis and youth in the European Commission’s directorate-general for education and culture (DG EAC).

Previously, Angelova-Krasteva, who is Bulgarian, was previously director for innovation, digital education and international cooperation in DG EAC. Before that, she was also director for sport.

In a post on LinkedIn, she wrote: “In my new role, I will ensure that policy development in education, youth, culture and sport is informed, forward‑looking and aligned with Europe’s broader strategic priorities, while continuing to promote and deepen cooperation with research and innovation communities, our international partners and other stakeholders”.

She said that her key focus would be “promoting intergenerational fairness and empowering young people by equipping them with the skills they need for the digital and AI era, and by strengthening civic education to support their democratic participation and engagement”.
