European Commission launches call for applications for scientists to be part of RAISE Board

The European Commission has issued a call for applications on 15/06/2026, inviting leading scientists who conduct AI research or apply AI in their work to join the Resource for AI Science in Europe (RAISE) High-Level Academic Advisory Board.

The Commission said this board would have a central role in shaping the future of AI-driven science and foundational AI research across Europe. Its members would offer independent scientific expertise, policy guidance and strategic advice to support the rollout of the European Union’s AI in Science Strategy and to steer the long-term evolution of RAISE.

The Commission added it wanted to keep RAISE strongly anchored in scientific excellence through this board, while ensuring it effectively served Europe’s research community and helped accelerate scientific discovery through AI.

RAISE, which was launched in November 2025, is a virtual institute designed to connect top researchers and resources to advance AI for science, as well as research into the fundamentals of AI itself. It is in its pilot phase and supported under the Horizon Europe programme…
