Nine member states launch Choose European Tech to encourage buyers to procure more from European startup

France, Belgium, Germany, Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania and Serbia have launched "Choose European Tech", a European extension of the programme "Je choisis la French Tech" which aims to increase the use of technologies developed by French startups by the private and public sectors.

French and Belgian ministers announced the launch of “Choose European Tech” at the Vivatech event in Paris on 17/06/2026.

The initiative unites major European procurers, organisations, agencies and ministries to promote innovative procurement across Belgium, Germany, Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Serbia. It aims to encourage buyers to procure more from European startups and scaleups, fostering innovation, competitiveness and collaboration across Europe.

"We cannot ask our startups to conquer the world if we didn't choose them. When we collectively decide to change our purchasing habits, it changes everything," said Julie Huguet, Head of Mission French Tech.
