Alexandre Morois appointed Director General of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE)

Alexandre Morois has been appointed as Director General of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), under the supervision of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, which coordinates the network of French educational institutions abroad.

Appointed on 15/06/2026, Morois will succeed Claudia Scherer-Effosse. He has sat on the board of directors of the AEFE in his capacity as Director of the Ministry since 01/09/2023.

A graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Public Service section), Morois had served as Director of Financial Affairs at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs since September 2023. He previously served as Deputy Director of Human Resources Policy at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs from 2019 to 2023, and as a special advisor on foreign affairs and defence at the General Secretariat of the Government (Prime Minister's Office) from 2016 to 2019, following several positions within the diplomatic network and central government administration.
