The European Commission has launched a call for evidence on the future of the Horizon Europe European Partnerships implemented as Joint Undertakings (JUs).

From 16/06/2026 to 14/07/2026, the feedback period aims to gather views on possible improvements to JUs that should increase the EU’s competitiveness.

Joint Undertakings are one of the European Union’s most effective instruments for bringing together industry, research organisations, public authorities and innovators to address strategic challenges through long-term collaboration and investment.

As part of the preparation of the next Horizon Europe programme (2028-2034) and the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF), the European Commission is developing a new Single Basic Act (SBA) for Joint Undertakings. The aim is to establish a single, coherent legal framework covering all JUs, with harmonised rules, streamlined governance and stronger cross-sector synergies.
