Spain's Pablo de Olavide University joins the Young European Research Universities Network (YERUN)

The Young European Research Universities Network (YERUN) has welcomed Pablo de Olavide University (UPO), in Spain, which becomes the 25^th member of the network.

"UPO brings to YERUN a strong commitment to research excellence, internationalisation, innovation, sustainability and societal impact," the network said on 26/06/2026.

The Spanish university is said to expand opportunities for collaboration and connections to Spanish and Ibero-American academic networks.

YERUN also stated that the university’s focus on open science, digital transformation, sustainability and inclusive education aligned with the network's mission and values.

Founded in 1997 in Seville, UPO is a research public university with more than 13,000 students and over 100 research groups working across a broad range of disciplines. The university also joined the EPICUR European university alliance earlier in 2026, in an effort to "leap forward in its international profile".
