European Medicines Agency and EIC strengthen cooperation to help health innovators reach patients

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the European Innovation Council (EIC) have signed a Letter of Intent to reinforce cooperation in support of Europe’s health innovators.

Emer Cooke, Executive Director at the EMA and Momchil Sabev, Director at the European Commission's SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), signed the agreement on 15/07/2026.

The strengthened cooperation aims to provide advice, guidance, training and support to the wider research community.

It will support innovative SMEs, startups, spin-offs, research organisations and universities in translating scientific discoveries into healthcare solutions for patients.
