Mediterranean Universities Union welcomes 18 new members and launches call to support Gazan researchers

The Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED), a network of higher education and research institutions working on academic cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and the Western Balkans, has gained eighteen new member universities, bringing the network to 199 members from 25 countries.

The network officially welcomed the new members on 13/07/2026. They are:

• University “Ismail Qemali” of Vlora, Albania;
• University of Shkodra “Luigj Gurakuqi”, Albania;
• Girne American University, Cyprus;
• University of Crete, Greece;
• University of Western Macedonia, Greece;
• Soran University, Iraq;
• Tishk International University, Iraq;
• Centro Alti Studi Difesa, Italy;
• Università Telematica San Raffaele Roma, Italy;
• University of Bergamo, Italy;
• Al-Balqa…
