Italian universities and companies vow to enhance collaboration for the country's competitiveness

Italian universities and companies have emphasised the importance of their collaboration to strengthen the country's competitiveness, accelerate technology transfer and enhance research and training.

Confindustria, the General Confederation of Italian Industry representing more than 150,000 enterprises, met with the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI) during the second edition of "Higher Education, Research and Innovation: Universities and Enterprises for the Competitiveness of the Country" on 23/07/2026.

The event brought together higher education, industry and institutional stakeholders to discuss operational proposals and shared priorities to strengthen the contribution of knowledge to Italy's economic and social development.
