EHL Group announces leadership transition and appoints Achim Schmitt as next CEO from January 2027

EHL Group, a Swiss group of Hospitality Management Schools, has announced a leadership transition: Markus Venzin will hand over his position as CEO at the end of the year, to be replaced by Achim Schmitt, currently Dean and a member of the Executive Leadership Team, from 01/01/2027.

The Board said on 31/08/2026 that it had selected Achim Schmitt as he "brings extensive international academic leadership experience and has been instrumental in strengthening EHL's academic foundations".

"His mission will be to place EHL’s educational mandate at the centre of the Group's activities, while ensuring academic rigour and operational excellence, with a focus on practical arts and a human-centred leadership that prepares students for the challenges of a rapidly changing world," the school added.
