Australia: University of Sydney staff walk out over AI protections and job security

Thousands of University of Sydney staff, including around 2,000 members of the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU), walked off the job for 24 hours over concerns about AI, job security, workloads and staff protections. Around 500 people joined picket lines at campus entrances, while most classes moved online, were rescheduled or cancelled.
