EAIE honours UK international education champion and association protecting scholars and academic freedom

The European Association for International Education (EAIE) has awarded its Award for Excellence in Internationalisation to Scholars at Risk and its Award for Vision and Leadership to Steve Smith, the UK Government International Education Champion.

The 2026 EAIE Awards were announced during the 36th Annual EAIE Conference and Exhibition in Glasgow, taking place from 08 to 11/09/2026. "The EAIE Awards honour individuals and organisations whose work has significantly advanced the internationalisation of higher education across Europe and worldwide," the EAIE explained.
