EAIE announces Tayyeb Shah as new President and four new Board members

The European Association for International Education (EAIE) has announced Tayyeb Shah as its incoming President, as well as four new Board members.

The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the EAIE 2026 conference, which took place from 08 to 11/09/2026 in Glasgow (Scotland).

The incoming President said that a new EAIE strategy will be launched from 2027 onward. He also stated that the world wasn't "waiting for international education to defend itself; it wants us to lead". He then promised to "make the case for international education with evidence, not assertion".

Shah previously served as Vice-President of the EAIE and is Managing Director of HSC Education in the UK. He was Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Western Australia and Deputy Vice-President at King’s…
