EIC Board urges for clarifications in Horizon Europe proposal

The European Innovation Council (EIC) Board has urged the European Parliament and the Council to clarify the new elements of the Horizon Europe 2028-2034 proposal to prevent them from weakening the EIC’s future impact.

The EIC Board published a statement on the Horizon Europe (2028-34) negotiations on 15/09/2026. It cautiously welcomed the Council’s Partial General Approach (PGA) on the Horizon Europe and European Competitiveness Fund (ECF) proposals. This caution stemmed "from the need to properly clarify and prepare for the implementation of the many novel elements in the Commission’s proposal and the Council's PGA, which, if not clarified and addressed correctly, run the risk of diluting the future impact of the EIC."
