EAIC states AI is a tool, not a shortcut to securing innovation funding

The European Association of Innovation Consultants (EAIC) has stressed that artificial intelligence should be seen as a tool for improving administrative efficiency, rather than as a shortcut to securing funding.

On 09/09/2026, the EAIC published a position paper analysing the impact of AI on the funding of innovation in Europe. The association argued that AI could support grant writing, but couldn't replace the expertise required to develop successful innovation projects.

According to Louis Papaemmanuel, EAIC Board Member and lead author of the paper, “AI is changing grant development and, used well, it is an extremely valuable tool.
