EARTO calls for phased approach to EU governance of technology infrastructures

The European Association of Research and Technology Organisations (EARTO) has called for the establishment of a "phased approach", aimed at combining the speed of launching a streamlined consultative network with a firm commitment to a comprehensive and sustainable governance structure for technology infrastructure (TI) in Europe.

EARTO published its position paper on the future EU governance for technology infrastructures on 18/09/2026, one year after the launch of the European Strategy on research and technology infrastructures, which proposed the establishment of a dedicated EU Forum on Technology Infrastructures.
