Spanish Research State Agency announces €1.2 billion for 7,110 grants and 20,900 researchers

The Spanish State Research Agency (AEI) has announced nine calls for aid during the second half of 2026 with a total budget of €1.2 billion.

The calls, announced on 18/09/2026, will distribute the total budget among 7,110 grants and 20,900 researchers, including 3,600 predoctoral and postdoctoral contracts and 17,300 funding for research activities.

The calls aim to hire technical, management and research staff at different career stages, finance Spanish teams' participation in international activities, and promote collaboration among agents of the Spanish Science, Technology and Innovation System.
