Stakeholders reject European Institute of Innovation & Technology's self-financing model

Some stakeholders have rejected the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT)’s self-financing model, considering it incompatible with the upstream public remit of education and research.

News Tank analysed the responses to the call for evidence on the future regulation of the EIT, which closed on 23/09/2026. The Commission opened this consultation because it is required to present a proposal for reviewing the regulation establishing the instrument by the end of 2026.
