Swiss University of St.Gallen sets out climate strategy for net-zero direct operational emissions by 2030

The President's Board of the University of St.Gallen in Switzerland has determined the university’s climate strategy, with an emphasis on innovation and personal responsibility. This implementation phase will run until the end of 2028, the university announced on 02/10/2026.

The President's Board decided to aim for net-zero direct operational emissions by 2030, as well as a 25% reduction in all emissions by 2030 compared with the base year of 2019. To achieve the latter, the university focuses on measures in the areas of travel, procurement and catering.

In 2019, the University of St.Gallen signed the Global Climate Letter for Universities and Colleges, which is a part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Race to Zero campaign.
