European Commission launches initiative to boost AI support for researchers across Europe

The European Commission has launched the Resource for AI Science in Europe (RAISE) in Science Enablers. It aims to mobilise private-sector and philanthropic support for European researchers working across artificial intelligence and science, beyond what public funding alone can provide.

The Commission announced the launch of this initiative on 15/10/2026, during the European AI in Science Summit taking place in Dublin, Ireland.

The RAISE AI pledging initiative for AI in Science Enablers will:
• support the development and deployment of AI to drive scientific breakthroughs and boost Europe's innovation capacity and competitiveness;
• help build closer links between private actors and the AI-in-science community by creating opportunities for matchmaking and collaboration.
